In remembrance of Shannon Rackley Rangel, dozens if not hundreds of family, friends, and community members who were touched by Shannon’s kind heart, commented on social media, filling the local newsfeed this weekend with memories of her “indomitable smile” and the beacon of light that she was in our community. This past October 23, the community also came together to host the Shannon Scramble for the family, and then a long line of friends and community members lined up in a parade, leaving a long stem rose in honor of the love of Shannon and family.

“You always were in my corner, hell you were in everyone’s corner. You were the best Auntie/ Cousin/ 2nd Mom anyone could ask for. You were truly a blessing in our lives. Thank you for everything you did…”

Shannon supported and helped others through their battle with cancer, even as she fought her own battle with cancer.
“Cancer took another beautiful soul…. we were neighbors, you supported my son through his fight while we prayed for your strength through yours.”

Upon Shannon’s request, she wanted all proceeds to the weekend’s events to be donated to Devine Youth Golf at Devine Golf Club as that was where her heart was. There will now be an annual memorial event held in her honor.
