Devine 1st United Methodist Church started Lenten and delivered Valentine goodies

Devine First United Methodist Church offered Drive-Thru Ashes to the community for Ash Wednesday last week for the first time. It was a blessing to serve 42 people and be able to pray with some of them. Thank you to Melissa at Party Rentals Etc. for allowing us to use her parking lot.

Vendors and Parade floats… it’s time to sign up for 2024 Natalia Bluebonnet Festival

The 2024 Natalia Bluebonnet Festival this year has been moved to the first weekend in April to coincide with area eclipse events. The dates for the entire event are April 6-8, 2024.
Come out and enjoy this year’s festival! We will have a Car Meet up at the festival. If you have an Antique, Classic or unique car and you want to show it off to the community head on over to Natalia April 6th. The meet up will start gathering at 1 p.m. on the festival grounds. Spreading the Light of Christ

Devine First UMC was busy this past weekend! We hosted our first Breakfast with Baby Jesus event for the community on Saturday. Kids of all ages were welcomed in to enjoy breakfast with Baby Jesus. Children were invited to step into the nativity scene to take a picture with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. They also were able to create holiday crafts and decorate Christmas cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A special experience at the “Empty Cross” at Kerrville

This 77 ft tall cross sculpture tops a beautiful hill and prayer garden along the highway in Kerrville and is the site of many miraculous events.

I finally got a chance to visit “the cross at Kerrville.” Despite its awesomeness, I only heard of it a couple months ago. This 77 ft tall cross sculpture tops a beautiful hill and prayer garden along the highway in Kerrville and is the site of many miraculous events.
While I did not personally get adorned by the miraculous “golden dust” that so many have experienced at the cross, I did have a special experience on that hill.
Local man, Tim Dimmick of Devine, did report leaving that hill with “golden dust” on his shoulder. It was his words that first inspired me to go to the cross.
