Vera honored for reaching milestone birthday

Ofilia G. Vera was honored for reaching her 100th birthday by Mayor Tommy Ortiz during the Natalia City Council meeting on January 27. Vera turned 100 on Jan. 27, and also received proclamations honoring her from Texas State Representative Andrew Murr, Texas State Senator Pete Flores, and US Congressman Will Hurd. Pictured with Vera are her granddaughter, Councilwoman Selica Vera, and Mayor Ortiz.

DHS Band qualifies 10 to State Solo & Ensemble

Advancing to State UIL: clarinet trio Madilynne Mohr, Clarissa Maldonado, and Skyler Montoya; and flute soloist Josephine Taitano all qualified to State by earning a Class One at Region this weekend.

Plans to provide quarantine housing for 250 people subject to coronavirus quarantine

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas —A town hall is scheduled at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. in the Gateway Club to answer questions about the repatriation of American citizens due to the current coronavirus outbreak in China.
