Airyanna Rodriguez, Kristina Moralez, Charlee Rangel, Yessika Garza, Jilliyn Guajardo, Trinity Black, and Kendall Marek cruised their way to their fourth consecutive District 29-4A championship last Thursday morning at the beautiful Devine Golf Club. Rodriguez, Moralez, Rangel, Garza, and Guajardo all placed in the top ten while Black and Marek were in the top 17.
Rodriguez came in as silver medalist, ten-seconds behind champion Carley Rodriguez of YWLA. A little coincidence is both of those Rodriguez’s are freshmen runners.
Moralez won bronze, coming in only two-seconds behind her teammate Airyanna. Rangel placed fifth overall followed by Garza at sixth and Guajardo at number seven.
Black was thirteenth, and Marek came in seventeenth which is quite an achievement for her as she had not competed in Cross Country since her middle school Filly days.
The Arabians advanced to Regional in Corpus on Monday, October 25.
Rebecca Mares ran for the JV Arabians. Mares placed third at 16:56, and will travel to Regional as an alternate.
