Arabians beat Uvalde for first home win of season

In the first home game of the season last Tuesday, the Varsity Arabians played Uvalde Lobos and won in three games. Devine made quick work of the first two games with scores of 25-17 and 25-15. Uvalde fought back in their third match, but the Arabians stayed strong and won 25-22.
“This was a great way to start the season at home. We made some great plays and we were really aggressive at times. We still have things to work on but we are getting better and better each time we play,” said Coach Leann McIver.
With a 5-4 season record, the Varsity Arabians are finding their stride. Sierra Pompa, Sara Moreno, and Gabby Rodriguez each had an ace. Pompa lead the charge with 20 kills, Dana Aaron 3 kills, Alissa Stehle 6, Macey Hein 3, and Megan Runyan 8 kills. Aaron had 2 blocks and Runyan 1 block. Pompa 20 digs, Julie Ortiz 1, Stehle 12, Moreno 9, Kaylee Howard 4, Rodriguez 11, Hein 8, Runyan 1, and Madison Pike 1 dig. Hein also had 32 assists as setter.
