November 27th, the Varsity Arabians hosted the Lady Bulldogs and sent back home with their tail between their legs and a 70-48 loss. Coach Jim Sessions and his team of talented athletes fought hard for this win against Bandera’s pick and roll offense. The Arabians made over half of their baskets from the field and made 55.6% of their free throws. Box score: Q1 12-12, Q2 37-22, Q3 54-33, Q4 70-48.
“We played well against Bandera. After a first quarter that was tied 12-12, we went on a nice 25-10 run in the 2ndquarter to take control of the game. We did a great job of breaking Bandera’s press and capitalizing on their (33) turnovers. Offensively we played well shooting nearly 50% for the game,” said Coach Sessions.
Sierra Pompa lead the charge with 20 points, 3 steals, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Preslee Quisenberry made 13 point with 4 of 4 free throws made, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Macey Hein had 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals. Alissa Stehle had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Kaylee Howard had 1 point. Megan Runyan scored 6 points, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Gabby Rodrigues had 1 assist and 1 steal. Clarissa Zamora had 10 points with 8 rebounds. Maddie Mata had 4 points and 1 rebound.
The Varsity Arabians will host their annual tournament this weekend, in Jourdanton December 11th, Boerne December 14th and then at Cotulla on December 18th.
