The Devine Arabian golf team swung its way to a team championship in Pleasanton at the Somerset Invitational Monday morning. Devine scored a 378 as a team, edging Great Hearts Monte Vista’s 385. Hondo finished third shooting a 438.
Arabian Emily Faubel placed second overall with a 78.
Fifteen different schools and nine complete teams chased the Arabian scores all through the chilly morning weather in Pleasanton, but Devine fought off the competition, hitting some nice approach shots and knocking down a few tough putt opportunities.
Faubel’s 78 led the Arabians followed by Brianna Schafer (90), Lillian Steele (100), Raynee Allen (110), and Gabby Morales (115). Reese Duncan shot a 117, and Abby Saunders tallied a 129 playing as individualists.
