Arabian golf earns 2nd at home invitational

The Pleasanton Eagle golf team captured the Arabian Golf Invitational shooting a team score of 407, narrowly edging out Devine who shot a 425 in Monday’s tournament at City of Devine Municipal Golf Course. Kayla Busby’s 88 was seven strokes better than Pleasanton’s Lacey Stevens and Hondo’s Mallory Matthews who each shot a 95.
I continue to be impressed with Kayla as her senior year unfolds. She has captured first place in each of our two tournaments that we have hosted this season, beating 48 other players that entered this past Monday. Her work ethic toward improving her game is unmatched which makes it nice to see her rewarded with 1st place finishes.
We only have two tournaments left to prepare for district as we head to Oso Beach for an invitational on Monday, March 4 then to a tournament in Uvalde right after Spring Break. Preslee Quisenberry, Shelby Spivey, and Lillie Weyel are trying to lock down those two-through-four spots while Paige Williamson, Sierra Pompa, and Sidney Weyel are vying for that 5th spot.
Team rankings: 1st-Pleasanton-407, 2nd-Devine-425, 3rd-Hondo-491, 4th-San Antonio Memorial-526, 5th-Carrizo Springs-535, 6th-Dilley-566, 7th-Medina-609.
