Amy Jane Bollinger Coffee

Amy Jane Bollinger Coffee, of Lytle, Texas passed away in San Antonio, Texas on July 29, 2021 at the age of 70. She was born November 8, 1950 in Bryan, Texas to Dr. James Norman Bollinger and Rosemary Taylor Bollinger.
At the age of nine months, Amy’s family was stationed in Germany, where her first language was German. Several years later, her family then briefly returned to Bryan, Texas before moving to Tennessee. There she was very popular in school, and was nominated Miss Clinton Elementary. Her family then moved to San Antonio, Texas where she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1969. There she met the love of her life, Curtis Coffee, who had recently returned from South Korea while serving in the United States Army.
Amy and Curtis were married later that same year, August 9, 1969, at St. Paul Catholic Church in San Antonio. Their marriage was blessed with almost fifty-two years of marriage, one daughter and one son, and two granddaughters.
The first job Amy had was at Hohenenberger-Collins Real Estate. After leaving Hoheneberger-Collins Real Estate, she went to work for her husband’s business in 1979, and worked there for over thirty years. She was also a busy wife and mother, taking care of their home in Lytle, Texas, raising their children and keeping up with her children’s education and various activities they were involved in.
Amy was known for her playful sense of mischief and humor. She was generous and kind, and went to great lengths for her friends. She felt privileged to be the grandmother of two lovely girls, Shelbie and Juliet Sittre. She was a devout Catholic, who was loyal to her church, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
As we grieve in our loss of Amy, our beloved family member, we rest in the knowledge that her pain and suffering are over.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Coffee of Lytle; daughter and son-in-law, Leeann and Patrick W. Sittre of Devine; son, Taylor Coffee of San Antonio; granddaughters, Shelbie Sittre and Juliet Sittre; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Ron Goodenoughof Pflugerville; numerous in-laws; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. James and Rosemary Bollinger, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis D. and Anna Coffee and her brother-in-law, Scott Binford.
Visitation was Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with The Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. The Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
