Alvin “Buddy” Loyd Chaffin, of Devine, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas at the age 86.
He was born July 3, 1931 in Iredell, Texas to William Lee and Irene (Sparks) Chaffin, both who precede him, along with his son, Buddy DeWayne Chaffin and his stepmother, Kate Chaffin.
Buddy is survived by his bother James Nolan Chaffin and wife Eleanor; two sisters, Wilma Loader and Vonnie ”Tink” Masters.
He was a member of the Devine Masonic Lodge #590, where he served as a Master Mason since 1959. He was also a member of the Shriners.
While serving in the United States Air Force on Azores Island, he was a flight chief mechanic. He was a retired supervisor with the civil service at Kelley Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. After his retirement, he enjoyed life on his farm.
Visitation was held Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Hurley Funeral Home, 303 W. College Avenue, Devine, Texas.
Graveside service was Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell, Texas.
