Alga Mae Trammell, 92, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, to Max M. Schmidt and Augusta Merecka Schmidt.
Alga built a remarkable 31-year career with Southwestern Bell, where she steadily advanced before retiring in 1987. In 1970, she married Reginal Trammell, and they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2021.
In retirement, Alga enjoyed countless hours of puzzles, Sudoku, and decorating for Christmas. Alga touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and generosity. She had a special gift for making everyone she met feel welcomed, valued, and loved, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She is survived by her brother, Max P. Schmidt and his wife, Pamela; her sister, Maxine Schmidt; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place Friday, April 17, at 10:00 a.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
