The 8th Grade Gold Fillys remain undefeated this season after facing Poteet on September 30th. The Fillys won 25-5 in the first set and Poteet battled back in the second but it was not enough to beat Devine. The Fillys won the second set 18-10. “These girls are such a joy to coach!” Coach Shana Beaty said. “I appreciate Poteet’s effort, but they were no match for my B-teamers. EVERYONE on the team made a positive contribution. Great job girls!”

September 30, the 8th Grade Maroon Fillys added another district win to their season against Poteet. The first set was close at 25-20 but the second set was completely in the Fillys control at 25-11.
“Poteet A-team was a pretty strong team defensively!” Coach Shana Beaty said. “They held their own against us in the first game only losing by 5 points. Again, my girls need to focus on what they need to do on the court to win the rallies instead of playing at a lower level with the attitude that ‘we’re going to win anyway’…We did a much better job the second game. We played more seriously and definitely made fewer mistakes.”
