Gold
On September 23, the 8th Grade Gold Fillys beat Carrizo Springs to earn their fourth win of their undefeated season. The Fillys won 25-8 and 25-10.
“I’m so proud of these girls! We always say in the huddle ‘no mercy!’ when we get ready to start the game and that is how my girls played,” Coach Shana Beaty said. “They are such a talented group of volleyball players. They work hard and are always looking to improve and I love them for that! Great job girls!! Crystal City…here we come!”

Maroon
Carrizo Springs had a rough first game against the 8th Grade Maroon Fillys on September 23. Kelsey Dishman served every serve in the 25-0 game. The Lady Cats were unable to break her stride and get out of their rotation.
“This game was definitely a learning experience for all! Carrizo Springs tried their best and I appreciate their effort as they kept fighting throughout the game; but due to the fact that we only played in rotation 1 the entire game, I decided to play my bench players the entire 2nd game and it was a real eye-opener,” Coach Shana Beaty said. “My girls off the bench got an opportunity to play each position and figure out where to go offensively AND defensively and they struggled a bit at times, but it didn’t take away from the game they played. This helped me see that I really need to practice my bench players more in that same type of scenario so my girls can gain more confidence in those rotations. We are excited to have another win on our belt.”
