A Team
The 7th grade Lady Mustangs’ A team traveled to Jourdanton on December 19th, to face off against the Squaws and took their first loss of the season.
Scoring for the A team was Yadhira Lujan with 11 points, Abigail Fulton with 10, Anaya Jones and Lacey Watson with 2 points each. The final score for the A team was 37 – 26. The Lady Mustangs struggled with running an offense and staying calm in the chaos. They are a very aggressive and quick team, but they have to show growth in trusting each other and staying calm when they game gets intense.
They will play Cotulla at home tomorrow night and then host their home tournament Saturday January 18th.
B Team
The Lady Mustangs’ 7th grade B team also faced Jourdanton on December 19th. Scoring for the B team was Mercedez Luna with 4, Makayla Rodriguez with 2, and Karianna Sanchez with 2 points. The final score for the B team was 23- 8.
“The B team needs to show consistency from game to game. They came out really strong on their last game against Lytle and we need that same intensity each game. They are learning quickly and I am sure the remainder of the season they will learn from this loss.”
Cotulla will head to Natalia on January 9th and then the Lady Mustangs will face Dilley on January 23rd.
