7th Grade Colts play Crystal City

Last Thursday the 7th grade football teams traveled to Crystal City and after playing two tough teams, they brought home a win and a tie.
The Gold Colts squeaked out a narrow victory 8-0. Crystal City played very tough and physical. Ayden Leal scored our only touchdown on a great run. Micheal Girtz then converted the two-point try. The whole defense played great. Victor Perez was a man-child out there.
The Maroon Colts just could not overcome some mistakes and the Crystal home field advantage ended in our 0-0 tie. I could not be more proud of our defense as we were hard to move like glaciers or ice. Getting a shut out in football is a great accomplishment. Brayden Reyes was such a spark on the defensive side of the ball. His huge interception was key. Offensively we just couldn’t overcome mistake after mistake to get any traction. I hope we learned how important focus is when it comes to this game. Pearsall will be a great test to see if we have learn our lessons.
The Colts will play Pearsall tomorrow night with games starting at 4:30 in Devine.
