7th Grade Colts beat Comfort 36-22

The 7th Grade Colts’ offensive line did a great job blocking against Comfort.

“The young men have been constantly improving throughout the year, and I think we displayed that on Thursday against Comfort.”
Offensively we are continuing to develop and grow with each practice and game. Evan Sanchez was our QB to start the year, but injuries forced us to move him to running back. The young man took it in stride, and balled out on Thursday. Sanchez scored 4 touchdowns in our 36-22 win over Comfort.
Elijah Contreras also found the end zone scoring a touchdown in the second quarter. Tyler Pike, Logan Davis, and Sanchez all scored two point conversions. Jacob Rodriguez has done a great job of stepping up at the quarterback position.
On the defensive side of the ball, we are still trying to figure some things out. Matt Gomez was the defensive MVP today. He just popped off the field making tons of tackles and tackles for loss.
This week is always special for the 7th graders, because it is the first time they get to experience what Devine vs Hondo is really all about. They are excited as heck. We as coaches have to help temper the excitement they are obviously feeling, and get them to focus at the job at hand.
The 7th grade Colts will take the field at 4:30 pm against Hondo this Thursday.
