7th Grade Colts beat Carrizo Springs

I have never been more proud of a football team in my eight years of coaching as I am of this 7th grade bunch. They came out and fought their tails off in our 22-8 win over Carrizo Springs. We had so many players step up and play roles they normally don’t play. E. J. Gonzales, Adam Guerrero, and Brayden Reyes just to name a few. Brayden Reyes and Elijah Contreras ran the ball maybe the best I have seen the ball ran all year. The offensive line also opens holes big enough that Coach Sanchez could have ran through those holes. Jaysen Ramirez did a great job of leading the O-line.
On the D side of the ball the guys were just very coachable. From rovers like Tony Saldivar to cornerbacks like Jacob Rodriguez. Hector Bernal dominated up front on defense. The season was a success we had a record of 6-1-1 and 3-1-1 in district. We for sure have some unfinished business as 8th graders but they should be very proud of what this season was.
The Colts will head straight into basketball season and play in their first game at home against Crystal City on November 14th. The 7th Grade Colts will be led by Coach Scott Taylor.
