Devine Colt Cross Country runners completed their seven-week season last Wednesday at City of Devine Golf Course. Both squads wound up as third place finishers in District 29-4A.
Anthony Saldivar paced the 7th grade Colts finishing fourth overall out of 39 competitors. Anthony’s 14:19 was one of only 11 recorded time in the fourteen-minute range. Logan Davis place 14th with a time of 15:23 followed by Samuel Diaz who ran a 15:59. Alfredo Ramirez (21st-16:01) and Joseyandell Saavedra (24th-16:19) completed the scores for the Colts.
Jaiden Alvarez led the 8th grade team finishing 12th of 24 runners with a time of 14:45. Jesse House was next across the finish line finishing 13th with a 15:14. Others in the top 20 were Chris Sanidad (14th-15:22), Jason Sanidad (17th-15:46), and Hayden Johnson (18th-16:30).
Diego Mendoza (21st-17:10), Mason Walker (22nd-17:25), Ace Sosa (23rd-18:11), and Makhi Burford (24th-19:11) completed the field for Devine runners.
Summer running
For the runners who want to improve, he must do the summer running program that is currently in place. At the conclusion of track season, Coach Beaty and Coach Thompson will meet with all who wish to participate in 2020 to get them going in the right direction.
