Woman caught in front of burglarized home, arrested on 4 charges

This past Sunday, January 19th, Medina County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a home burglary, when the suspect was spotted holding some of the stolen property, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies arrested a female subject on several charges, including Assault Peace Officer, Burglary of a Habitation, Burglary of a Building, and Resist Arrest.
The home burglary was reported in the 1100th block of County Road 6846 in the Twin Lakes Subdivision area of Lytle.
“The deputy made contact with the homeowner, who stated that several household items were missing,” said Deputy Chief Gilbert Rodriguez. “The deputy was on scene talking with the family, when a female wearing a red-striped shirt walked in front of the property, and the homeowners said ‘Hey that’s our stuff!'”
“The suspect took off running on foot and the deputy gave chase to the suspect. As the deputy was taking the suspect into custody, she turned around and bit him,” Rodriguez said.
“Long story short, the suspect was also charged with burglary of a building located near the home,” Rodriguez added.
The subject was booked into Medina County Jail on the following charges and bond amounts:
Assault Peace Officer $7,500 Surety Bond
Burglary of a Habitation $5,000 Surety Bond
Burglary of a Building $3,000 PR Bond
Resist Arrest $3,000 PR Bond
