According to a press release from Devine PD: “On June 17, 2020, at 2:10 pm, Officers of the Devine Police Department responded to a fatality accident, involving a Republic Waste Management truck, in the 300 block of W. Malone Drive.”
“Ramiro Zapata, 54 years of age of San Antonio, did not survive the accident.”
“Zapata exited the truck to assist with trash collection pickup. When he exited, the truck was in drive, with the parking brake set. The truck ran over Zapata’s upper body, coming to a stop against a large tree.”
