The Warhorse track team continued adding 1st place plaques to the trophy case at Devine High School. On March 10, with rain cancelling out both hurdle races and several field events, Coach Lynn Cozby and crew’s squad finished their 4th consecutive track meet in the championship spot. The Warhorses racked up 93 points to finish ahead of Beeville (80) and Luling (76) to win the Daetwyler Relays. Jourdanton now joins Pearsall, Poteet, and Pleasanton on the list of towns where the Warhorses have gotten on the bus to return home with the 1st place hardware firmly in hand.
“We went over there to get a job done and we did,” stated Cozby. “There was good competition for our team and we stood out as the best. I am very proud of the accomplishments of our team members, especially considering the circumstances.”
