Carson Tilley, Beau Cardenas, Hunter Murphy, Noah Tumbarello, and Brice Champion punched the Devine Warhorse golf teams ticket to the State Meet for the first time since 1994. Devine shot a two-day score of 650 (320/330) to finish runner-up to Regional Champion Fredericksburg (608-303/305) and ahead of 3rd place Gonzales (665-321/344). The Warhorses will make the trip to Apple Rock Golf Course in Marble Falls on May 22nd and 23rd.
Devine used team balanced scores that ranged from 155 to 169 to qualify for the meet. Tilley (155-75/80), Tumbarello (160-76/84), Murphy (169-84/85), Cardenas (169-85/84), and Champion (169-87/82) have grinded tirelessly at Devine’s golf course and Castroville’s driving range to make advancing to State a reality instead of just a dream.
