On December 6, 2020 Deborah Wagner was awarded the B.E.S.T. Award from the Texas Baptist Cooperative Program. This is the first of its kind. She represented First Baptist Church of Devine, Lytle ISD, and Baylor University.
Pastor Dan Newburg and Superintendent of Lytle ISD Michelle Smith presented her the award at the church service. She was one of nine recipients out of 48 nominees across the state of Texas.
Mrs. Wagner is recognized not only as an outstanding educator, but also as a remarkable Christian influence in the lives of her students. She is being recognized as serving her school district, her church, and the community in a positive Christian way.
