Vehicle engulfed in fire

A little after 6:40 pm last Friday, August 16, the Devine Fire Department was toned out for a fully engulfed vehicle fire off CR 545. “The large commercial truck is used to mix cement at oilfield sites, so it had a lot of hydraulic fluid and diesel in it. The driver stated that the truck started acting funny, with the engine going really fast right before the fire happened. It was way out in the country, so the fire was fully involved when we arrived, but thankfully we were able to stop it from spreading into a nearby property.”
Hondo Fire assisted at the scene, and thankfully there were no injuries reported.
