Varsity Arabians clinch back-to-back District titles

The girls defeated Crystal City last Tuesday and won in three games; 25-14, 25-9, and 25-10.
“This win clinched the district championship for us,” Coach Leigh Anne McIver said.
Offensively the Arabians scored 7 aces led by Addie Trojanowski with 3 and followed by Alissa Stehle, Makenna Morales, Julie Ortiz, and Amanda Richardson each with 1. The girls had a total of 42 kills; Chesney Friesenhahn with 12, Sierra Pompa with 10, Trojanowski with 5, Caimee Fowler with 3 and Stehle with 2. There were 40 assists; Trojanowksi 24, Sydney Rendon 14, and Morales 2.
Defensively the Arabians had 2 blocks made by Friesenhahn. They also scored 64 digs; Morales 22, Friensehahn 10, Rendon 9, Trojanowski 7, Richard son 6, Stehle 4, Ortiz and Elizabeth Puente each with 2, and Pompa and Fowler each with 1.
“I thought the girls came out a little tense in set 1, but we finally relaxed and started to play our game,” Coach McIver said. “The girls kept the momentum in set 2 and 3 and were able to end the match on a high note.”
