Two Texas banks merge

HONDO, TEXAS- Two long standing Texas banks, Hondo National Bank and Community National Bank have merged to become TXN Bank, N.A. (Texan Bank).
As announced in August of 2020, Texas Heritage Bancshares Inc, parent company of Hondo National Bank and Medina Community Bancshares Inc, parent company of Community National Bank, consolidated into the Texas Heritage Bancshares Inc. holding company. This consolidation was effective in April of 2021 and a new merged bank is now the result of this consolidation. On February 22, 2022, TXN Bank, N.A. officially opened its operations under this new bank name.
According to TXN Bank CEO and President, Ronnie Miller, “TXN Bank is the culmination of hard work from our board, our employees and extraordinary vision from our shareholders. We plan to continue the legacy of community banking, and are excited to see what the future holds for TXN Bank and the communities we serve.”
TXN Bank has also made plans to consolidate the two Hondo locations into one state-of-the-art headquarters facility. The new location, which will be located on Veteran’s Boulevard, in the space currently occupied by Christian’s Furniture, is expected to be complete in late 2023.
TXN Bank has Banking Branch Centers in Hondo (2), Bandera, Blanco, Castroville, La Coste, Leakey, Lytle and Uvalde. Customers of both Hondo National Bank and Community National Bank can begin using banking services at any of these locations as of February 22, 2022.
