Trucker hailed a hero for stopping kidnapping attempt

A trucker jumped into action when he saw a man trying to drag a woman into a vehicle on the side of the road on Monday, December 30 around 10:45 am. The incident occurred on the access road of I-35 just north of Love’s Truck Stop.
Officers responded to the IH 35 S and FM 471 area for the female who was reportedly being assaulted by a white male. Witnesses stated that the male subject was dragging the female by her head of hair and trying to get her inside a car until the trucker stepped in, not allowing him to get the female into the vehicle.
“I believe he might have saved that lady’s life,” said Natalia PD Chief Glen Barrow. “A trucker named Nathaniel saw it happening, and he jumped out his truck–he said ‘Not today.’ She had a pretty large knot on her head, and was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.”
Witnesses at the scene recalled the actions of the hero, who was gone by the time the police arrived.
“Not every citizen gets involved when they see something like this happening, but he did. He took the time to stop and help,” Chief Barrow adds.
The male suspect fled the scene prior to officer arrival. Police stated the victim and suspect do know each other, and the case remains under investigation.
