Three contested races for Lytle City Council seats

Six candidates have filed for Lytle City Council seats for the upcoming election. There will be three contested races including District 1, 2, and 3 seats of City Council. Candidates are listed below:
DISTRICT 1 race – GUADALUPE CASTRO, incumbent; JOSEPH MORROW
DISTRICT 2 race – SAM CORTEZ, incumbent; LAURA REYNA (currently serving as District 3 councilwoman).
DISTRICT 3 race – RICHARD B. CORTEZ; DAVID EMERY.
The City Secretary serves as the city’s Chief Election Official.
The City of Lytle holds its election for city council and Mayor in May of each year. At the present time, the election for Districts 1, 2, and 3 are held in odd numbered years, while the election for Districts 4, 5, and the Mayor are held in even numbered years.
The next scheduled City Election is Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Lytle Community Center from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Early voting will take place for 7 days April 19-23 and April 26-27 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lytle City hall.
Extended hours for voting on Tuesdays, April 20th and 27th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
