Ronald (Ronnie) W. Savage

Ronald (Ronnie) W. Savage passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020, at University Hospital. He was 70 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sisters, and mother-in-law and father-in-law.
He is survived by his wife Helen, his daughters Ronda and Beth, his son-in-law Roger, and his grandchildren Paisley and Drew.
He was married for 46 years. Ronnie was a longtime resident of Devine, Tx. He retired from University Health Systems after more than 20 years. After working hard his entire life, he found that teaching his grandchildren how to feed cattle was his favorite thing to do. He took pride in caring for his wife Helen when she became disabled. The best part was dad cooking with mom and he managed to make it edible with her help.
Ronda and Beth made a promise to keep more gas in our trucks because it would drive him crazy when we didn’t. We promise to keep our vehicles maintained, fluids full, and registrations current.
Ronnie welcomed his city boy son-in-law to the country his first week living on the ranch by making Roger help him pull a calf. Roger is now in charge of all wood cutting and fence building, as he was well taught by dad.
Ronnie always had one fear, snakes. He made sure to keep his cats well taken care of so they would help him keep the snakes away.
Ronnie was an amazing husband, dad, grandfather, friend, and worker. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A special thanks to Eddie Hutzler for his daily calls checking in on Helen and Ronnie. Thank you to everyone who sent prayers and condolences. Thank you Cathy Yantis for all you have done.
At this time, we will not be having any funeral services. We hope to have a memorial service at a later date.
If you would like to send your condolences, please mail cards to the family at 920 Taylor St., Unit A, Pleasanton, Tx 78064.
