Rodney Byron Gill, 71, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019.
Mr. Gill was born Dec. 13, 1947, in Rio Grande City. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Schultz; stepfather, Henery Schultz; father, Tom Barnes; three brothers, James Barnes, Lloyd Barnes, and Eddie Barnes; an infant sister, Katy Schultz; and his grandparents, Willie and Hattie Schultz.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Ann Gill; two sons, Zach (Antnia) Gill and Willie Edward Desmond; three daughters, Shelly Renee (Brian Bates) Gill, Jo Lee Gill, and Mary Ann (Joey) Vetters; three brothers, Johnny (Sandra) Schultz, Charles Schultz, and Larry Barnes; two sisters, Cheryl Schultz, and Lisa (John) Fisher; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11:00 am at the 3B Ranch in Gillett.
