Rescuers save driver after truck plunges into creek bed

A freightliner truck ran through the guardrail and cable wire and jumped the embankment, landing way down below the I-35 overpass in the San Fransciso Creek bed near Exit 122.
First responders, including Devine PD, Allegiance EMS, Medina County Sheriff’s office and Devine Volunteer Fire Department were toned out to the scene around 1 am Sunday night. Thankfully the truck driver was okay. First responders cleared the scene in approximately 4 hours. Thank you to all the first responders who answered this call in the early morning hours. Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved.
Devine VFD volunteers have answered the 9 calls for help in the past 5 days as we wrap up this story Monday afternoon. They are in need of more volunteers. If you would like to volunteer with the fire department, come by any Monday or Thursday night at 7pm. Monday is when meeting is held, and Thursday is the vehicle maintenance night.
