Rene Joseph Mueller, of San Antonio, passed away on January 12, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 57 years. He was born February 16, 1961 in Castroville, one of three sons born to Henry Edward “Skip” Mueller and Emma “Cookie” Ybarra Mueller.
Rene grew up in Castroville and graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1979. He took great pride in his career as a construction surveyor. One of his greatest accomplishments was helping to build the Circuit of the Americas Race Track in Austin, Texas.
On January 23, 1999, Rene married Sandra “Sandy” Lee Hauffe in McAllen, Texas. Rene and Sandy were about to celebrate twenty years of marriage later this month.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Mueller; daughters, Amanda Mueller (Kimberly Hernandez-Mueller) and Taylor Mueller; and his granddaughter, Jocelyn Joyner.
Rene was preceded in death by his parents, Skip and Cookie Mueller and his brothers, Dean Mueller and Darin Mueller.
Visitation was Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection was Friday, January 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Louis Catholic Church. Services concluded at the church.
