Pirates sit at 6-0

With district neatly half over, the Pirates are sitting undefeated after 6 games and are 14-5-1 for the season. They played Natalia last night at home. As of Monday, Poth trailed at 5-1 and Jourdanton at 5-2 in district. Natalia was 3-3. If the Pirates continue at this pace they will reach far into playoffs.
Facing Poth on April 1st, the Pirates handed them their first loss at 11-1 after five innings. Lytle earned at least one run each inning and only allowed one run in the top of the 4th. The bottom of the 3rd was the Pirates biggest inning. Up 2-0 with one out, Caleb Wood singles, Faustino Sanchez in for Wood, Sebastian Flores doubles and Sanchez scores, 3-0. Mark Cantu in for Flores, Justin DeLeon walks, Kasen Boyd pops out, Alex Ramos singles and Cantu scores, 4-0. C. Aldridge singles and brings in 2 runs, 6-0.
Collin Aldridge 2 singles, 2 RBI, 1 run. Faustino Sanchez 2 runs, 2 steals. Cantu 1 run. Ramos 1 single, 1 RBI, 2 runs, 1 steal. Zakry Placido 1 single, 2 runs, 1 steal. Wood 2 singles. Carson Aldridge 1 single, 1 triple, 2 RBI, 2 runs, 2 steals. Sebastian Flores 2 doubles, 4 RBI. DeLeon 1 RBI, 1 run. Logan Wilson 1 steal. Wood was on the mound for the Pirates and threw 41 strikes in 71 pitches. He faced 21 batters.
The Pirates start the 2nd half of district this Friday in Cotulla. They will play Jourdanton at home Tuesday.
