Pirates prepare for district tennis

Lytle Pirate Tennis player Kyle Mueller took 5th place in boys singles at the Uvalde tournament.

In their last tournament before district, the Lytle Tennis players put it all on the court and competed hard in Uvalde.
“Each year we look forward to this tournament as it’s usually one of the most competitive of the season, plus they guarantee 4 matches which allows for lots of court time to prepare for our district tournament. The two highlights from the tournament were first, Kyle Mueller finished the tournament with a 3-1 record which kept him in the main draw and Kyle finished in 5th place out of a field of 32 singles players. Secondly, our #1 boy’s doubles team of Diego Rangel and Michael Tomlinson also finished in 5th place of the main draw out of 28 teams, finishing with a 3-1 record,” said Coach Frank Hernandez.
The tennis players have until April 12-14 to get ready for district which will be held in Jourdanton this year. Parking is at the baseball and softball fields. Good luck to all of the tennis players as they work hard to move past district.
