The Pirate track team finished as runner up in Dilley last Wednesday, scoring 131 points to easily outdistance third place team Crystal City who had 80. Pearsall won the Wolfpack Relays with 175 points. The JV Pirates placed second as a team as well with 125 points compared to team champion Pearsall who finished with 153.5.
The 4x400m Relay team of Ismael Burarin, Malakai Garza, Miguel Lopez, and Brandon Adkins turned their four laps into gold medals for each runner. Gold also went to Jose Cortez in the 3200m and Alex Medina in Discus.
Silver medalists were Adkins, Garza, Hudson Mask, and Andres Cardenas in the 4x200m Relay, Robert Wagner in the 800m,Cortez in the 1600m, and Brandon Obando in the 3200m.
Bronze went to the 4x100m Relay team of Adkins, David Arreguin, Mask, and Aguilar while other bronze medals went to Abel Sanchez in the 800m, Wagner in the 1600m, and Mario Diaz in Shot Put.
JV Pirates that won first place included Marcos Alvarez in the 1600m, and William Davalos in Shot Put.
Silver medals were awarded to 4x400m Relay team members Yandel Esquives, Rudy Cepeda, Luke Estrada, and Amadeus Trejo-Perez as well as the 4x100m Relay team of Trejo-Perez, Cepeda, Estrada, and Alvarez. Esquives and Estrada each earned another silver in the 300m Hurdles and High Jump respectively, while Jairo Martinez got one in Shot Put.
Bronze winners were Trejo-Perez, Estrada, Cepeda, and Esquives in the 4x200m Relay, Alvarado in 200m Dash, Daniel Mercardo in 1600m, and Alvarez in Triple Jump.
