The Natalia ISD Board of Trustees approved a three-year contract making Harry Piles the district’s new Superintendent during the meeting held on Monday, February 22.
Piles is set to take the reins from Interim Superintendent Dr. Lana Collavo on March 15. He comes to the district from Lytle ISD, where he served as Assistant Superintendent.
Piles was named the Lone Finalist for NISD’s Superintendent position on Feb. 1, but could not be formally hired until after a 21-day waiting period mandated by state law.
A motion by Vice President Tiffany Rodriguez and member Andrew Besa to hire Piles passed 5-0 with support from President Eric Smith and members Paul Almendarez and Mireya Vanderslice.
Secretary Gordon Gentry and member Fernando Garza were absent.
