PFC Kelly Dayton Lewis (U.S. Army, retired), passed away on February 18, 2018 at his home in Castroville, at the age of 46 years. Kelly was born May 1, 1971 in St. John, Antigua, one of four children of Alfred Lewis and Goldeen Martin Lewis. He proudly served his country for eight years, before being medically retired in 1997. Kelly was currently working as a landscaper and was a member of Crownridge Church.
On August 10, 1993 he married Tamela Chare Beach. Kelly and Tamela were blessed with twenty-four years of marriage and three children. Survivors include his wife, Tamela Lewis of Castroville; children, Mya Lewis, Anthony Lewis and Alec Lewis, all of Castroville; parents, Alfred and Goldeen Lewis of Antigua; siblings, Dr. McLean Lewis, MD and wife Karen of Pennsylvania, Cheryl Lewis of Antigua and Lornette Lewis of Alabama.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service that evening at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning, March 8, at 8:00 am, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, followed by the procession to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, departing from the funeral home at 9:15 am. A graveside service with full military honors, followed by interment, will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:15 am on March 8, 2018.
