Patrick “Pat” James Wurzbach

Patrick “Pat” James Wurzbach, of Castroville, passed away on September 7, 2020 in San Antonio at the age of 68 years. Pat was born November 28, 1951 in Castroville, Texas, the second of three children born to Herbert Emil Wurzbach and Hertha Caroline Schroeder Wurzbach.
Pat graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1970. He served in the United States Air Force reserves for six years in the 149th Fighter Unit Motor Pool. Pat was a 5th generation Medina County farmer and rancher. He was a past chairperson of the Farm Services Agency and also served on several committees within the agency. He was also a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church.
On September 24, 1977, Pat married Phyllis Ann Schuehle at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Pat and Phyllis would have celebrated forty-three years of marriage in less than a month. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters and their husbands as well as four precious grandchildren.
Pat is survived by his wife, Phyllis Wurzbach of Castroville; daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Justin Rodgers of Eagle Lake, Texas, Andrea and Shane Schuchart of Jourdanton, Texas; grandchildren, Adalyn Rodgers, Taft Rodgers, Peyton Schuchart, and Jett Schuchart; brother, Tommy Wurzbach of Rio Medina and sister, Doris Schueling of Hondo.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Hertha Wurzbachand his parents-in-law, John Schuehle, Jr. and Annetta Schuehle.
Public Visitation was Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held on Monday, September 14, 202 0at 10:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment followed at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
Please Note; the number of people allowed in church is limited. A larger group of people will be allowed at the Graveside Service if the church is at capacity. Face coverings are required and social distancing shall be practiced.
Memorials may be made in Pat’s memory to any Zion Lutheran Church Fund or the charity of your choice.
