Seniors Vanessa Oyola and Jenna Sadler gained statewide recognition by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches award’s committee for their outstanding contributions this past season to the Regional-Semifinalist Devine Arabians. Vanessa was named both All-Region and All-State while Jenna was named to the All-Region team.
Vanessa was also honored by the Texas Girls Coaches Association by being named to their All-State team.
“I am extremely proud of VO and Jenna,” stated Head Coach Jim Sessions. “I’m glad to see them recognized by the members of these organizations for their hard work and effort that they put into their game. Not only were these kids individually honored, but it also shows that our teams success was recognized as well.”
Vanessa has signed on to play at Texas A&M International University while Jenna is currently involved in the successful season that the Lady Arabian softball team is enjoying.
Oyola averaged 17.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.4 steals per game while Sadler averaged 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and .5 charges taken per game for the 28-5 Arabians.
Vanessa is the daughter of Alex Oyola and Becky Oyola. Jenna is the daughter of Joseph Sadler and Lacey Erxleben.
