Otilia finished her race for life peacefully on Friday morning, September 17, 2021, at the age of 92, after a long bout of illness, with her children and grandchildren around her, in San Antonio, Texas.
Otilia was born to Jesus Silva and Camila R. Silva in Black Creek, Texas on December 13, 1928.
She is survived by her son Alfredo Gallegos (Elisa), two daughters Soveida Trevino (Daniel), and Lydia Lopez (Joseph); grandchildren, Beatrice Ramirez (Henry), Timothy Gallegos (Jessica), Reynaldo Macias (Victoria), Tasha Macias and Nicole Gallegos, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Federico M. Gallegos and her son Federico Gallegos Jr., her parents Jesus and Camila R. Silva, two sisters, Seferina S. Rodriguez and Enedina S. Tijerina,
Visitation only will be from 5pm-9pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine. A final viewing will be on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 8am-10am at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine followed by a chapel service at 10am at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Per family’s request masks must be worn during the attendance of services for Mrs. Gallegos.
