Natalie Elizabeth Spencer

Natalie Elizabeth Spencer, age 53 of Rio Medina, passed away in a tragic automobile accident in the early evening of April 2, 2020, just days before her 54th birthday. Born April 11, 1966 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of William E. “Bill” Youngs and Martha Eloise Hanby Youngs.
Natalie graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1985. She loved to play golf and was the first female golfer at MVHS. Natalie attended the University of Texas at San Antonio to study nursing before deciding to become a journalist. From starting as a journalist, she became a reporter then editor and after years she because the proud owner and publisher of the Castroville News Bulletin, Medina Valley Times and the Lytle Leader News. Her passion and love was to help and grow small town community papers.
On December 19, 1987, Natalie married Jerry Richard Spencer at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and were blessed with thirty-two years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Spencer of Rio Medina; son and daughter-in-law, Jerad and Michelle Spencer of Vidor; daughter, Paige Spencer of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Ysela Gabrielle Spencer and Jaden Spencer of Vidor; and numerous friends.
Natalie was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will have a private Memorial Service at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at a later date.

Her friendly smile, calm demeanor and valuable leadership skills will be greatly missed.
