Natalia Jr. High Mustangs and Lady Mustangs competed at Devine Golf Club last Wednesday in the Colt and Filly Cross Country Invitational. Seventh grade runner Jade Mata placed the highest of the four divisions earning third with a 16:41 time.
Mata’s teammates Andrea Martinez ran 22:54 for place 22nd and Camila Gastelum finished 23rd at 23:00.
For the 7th grade Mustangs, Christopher Tapia placed 27th with a 19:15 time followed by Jordan Castro (34th-20:55) and Jordan Rodriguez (36th-21:17).
The 8th grade Lady Mustangs had three runners in their division with Abriella Garza placing the highest in the 27th spot. Garza ran her two miles in 20.17.
Elena Ottinger was 29th at 21:28 and Jasmin Sanchez was 30th with a 21:57 effort.
Rudy Cruz led the 8th grade Mustangs with a 4th place 13:20 two-mile time. Peyton Alderete was top 10 finishing 10th at 14:30.
