Congratulations to a job well done by Mrs. Carly Parson (above) who is a Kinder teacher at Devine ISD, and to Mrs. Julie Oropez (left) who is an English teacher at Devine High School and also a coach in Devine.
Both teachers are noted for inspiring students and athletes day after day with their dedication and encouragement.

Officer on duty was contacted via public service by Medina County Dispatch for a stolen phone report.
12/14-911 call
Officer on duty was dispatched to a 911 call from a resident whose water line broke in her home.
12/14-Animal Control
Officer on duty picked up a white puppy wandering the streets. The puppy was wearing a blue collar with no identification tags or chip.
12/16-Animal Control
Officer on duty responded to a telephone call from a local citizen who was looking to adopt a dog after the loss of his long-time pet. The Officer sent photos of a puppy at the local kennel and the puppy was successfully adopted and delivered to his new home.
12/17- Information
Officer responded to a report of a burning ground fire. The Officer arrived at the location and conducted a security check and found everything in order.
12/17-Suspicious Person
Officer on duty responded to a call about a disoriented individual at Chubby’s in Nataliia. The Officer arrived at the location and was able to identify the subject and help him get home safely to the family.

School and Community Involvement: My extracurricular activities are participating in the high school marching band, as well as being a part of the high school track team. I was also recently inducted in the National Honor Society. I have also completed some community service work like helping out in concessions during basketball games.

Spreading the Light of Christ
Devine First UMC was busy this past weekend! We hosted our first Breakfast with Baby Jesus event for the community on Saturday. Kids of all ages were welcomed in to enjoy breakfast with Baby Jesus. Children were invited to step into the nativity scene to take a picture with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. They also were able to create holiday crafts and decorate Christmas cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Damage devastating, support overwhelming Lane family says
Schottzy’s 1 year anniversary celebration was bittersweet to say the least, after a driver crashed into the coffee shop just a couple days before the celebration
LaCoste and surrounding communities have come together this week to help the Lane family and staff at Schottzy’s. Just as Schottzy’s Kaffeehaus was getting ready to celebrate its one year anniversary, tragedy struck. A driver veered off the road at on Castro Avenue in LaCoste striking the popular coffee shop around 11 pm this past Thursday, December 7.
