Devine aims for park upgrades

The short but intense debate over whether to seek a grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife (TPW) to add a splash pad and other amenities to Briscoe Park was put to rest on July 24 when the Devine City Council voted 4-1 to move ahead in its pursuit.

County files lawsuit to remove Clerk, opposes bill raising property taxes

County Commissioners filed suit to remove County Clerk Lisa J. Wernette from office. Wernette was elected in 2007 and is in the midst of her third term.

A lawsuit was filed on Friday, July 21, 2017 by the County to have Lisa Wernette removed from her County Clerk’s position.

City park upgrades on the line at Special meeting July 24

The addition of a splash pad and other amenities for Briscoe Park will be given a second chance to become reality at a Special meeting of the Devine City Council scheduled for next Monday, July 24 at 6:00 pm.
