Mustangs participate in Kennedy Tournament

The Natalia Mustangs went one in three in the Kennedy Varsity Tournament. Facing Kennedy, Runge, and Stacey Senior High over the weekend, the Mustangs played hard against the tougher schools.
Playing on their home court in a tournament is always hard but Natalia kept pace with Kennedy and only lost by 5 at 54-59. Fabian Ruiz had a great game with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Juelian Armendariz scored 11 with 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
In their second game against Runge, the Mustangs controlled the tempo the whole game and won 69-44. Armendariz lead with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. Ruiz had 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. Coltin Richardson put up 8 points.
In their final game against Stacey Senior High, the Mustangs fell behind and could not catch back up. They lost 22-56 while Faelan Villarreal and Enrique DeOsio put up 8 points each.
The Mustangs are currently 2-8 and will play Crystal City this Friday. Then they head to Nixon Smiley December 27-28 for another tournament. District starts January 17th against Dilley.
