Mustangs advance to XC Regionals

The Varsity Mustangs are Regional-bound after taking 2nd place at district. They are: David Silva, Isaac Rios, Coltin Richardson, Noah Gilkey, Juelian Armendariz, and Diego Zapata.

At the district cross country meet in Lytle on October 15th, the Varsity Mustangs and Lady Mustangs had a great showing. The Mustangs placed 2nd as a team and Meg Martinez placed 11th and will go as an alternate to Regionals. The Lady Mustangs varsity team placed 4th overall. Regionals will be held October 28th in Corpus Christi

“Varsity boys are advancing to Regionals!” Coach Kim Lane said. “I am beyond proud of how hard they have worked this year and continue to have PRs every week. They were put up against a tough Lytle team and fought hard to put up some great points up for the team.

Members of the Lady Mustang cross country team are Gaby Contreras, Tatyana Alvarado, Britney Castro, Rebekah Sanchez, Sofia Almendarez, Ashley Sutton, Julie Rivera, Gabriella Munoz, and Meg Martinez (individual Regional qualifier).

“I am grateful for my girl athletes this year, as they have grown so much. Records have been broken and gains have been made. The future will be great! Thanks for a great season girls!”
