Michelangelo Perez Cuellar, of La Coste, passed away on October 31, 2023 in San Antonio, at the age of 82. He was born August 30, 1941 in La Coste, Texas to the late Casimiro Perez and Lorenza Cuellar.
In 1960, he graduated from Medina Valley High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Vietnam Era. He was a Kelly Air Force Base Civil Service employee and then worked for Housing and Urban Development, retiring as an environmental officer. Michelangelo was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and Medina Valley VFW Post #8134. Michelangelo was a proud descendent of the Apache Chiricahua Tribe; on his father’s side of the family.
Survivors include his children, Leticia Cuellar (Scott Boudin) of La Coste and Teresa Cuellar of La Coste; siblings, Rosa Cuellar, Amelia Medina (Eloy), and Gilbert Castillo (Chavela), all of San Antonio; the mother of his daughters, Rosa G. Cuellar of La Coste; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Michelangelo was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Arturo Castillo, Miguel Cuellar, and Jose Maria Cuellar.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, followed by the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.
