Michael (Mike) Patrick Schneider of Houston, Tx, formerly of Devine, Tx, passed away on December 19, 2020 in Houston, Tx.
Mike entered this life on July 9, 1951 to loving parents Emil (Mule) and Alice (Haass) Schneider. Mike was the youngest of four children.
Mike had the pleasure of growing up with two brothers, Jerry Schneider and Bill Schneider, and many cousins right across the fence. Mike was a joy to his parents as his arrival was an unexpected gift. His parents always said he kept them young.
Mike was affectionately known in the family as the “Last of the Mohicans,” as his big brother Jerry often reminded him.
Mike graduated from Devine High School and attended Texas A&I in Kingsville. Mike graduated with a mechanical engineering degree.
After graduating from college, Mike began a career in the oil and gas industry in Houston. Mike’s career took him around the world. Some countries he was able to work in were Venezuela, Tierra del Fuego, Africa, Dubai, and others.
Mike married Angela Anderson of Houston and they had two children, Matthew Anderson Schneider and Carrie Marie Schneider.
After Mike retired from his career he established BikeBug, which produced and sold electric and gasoline bicycles around the world. Mike often rode his bicycles in the Devine Fall Festival. Mike also donated bicycles to many organizations in the Houston area.
Mike was known as a jokester and was willing to try almost any challenge, prank, or dare, along with several of his high school buddies. They know who they are.
Mike loved to fish, canoe, scuba dive, and all water sports. Mike loved spending time with his family and friends, especially at his favorite place, “The Frio.”
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Emil “Mule” and Alice (Haass) Schneider, infant sister Patsy Ruth Schneider, brother Jerry Schneider, nephew Roger Schneider, and mother of his children Angela Anderson Schneider.
Mike is survived by his brother Bill Schneider of Devine, daughter Carrie Marie Schneider, son Matthew Anderson Schneider (Jessica), and four grandchildren, all of the Houston area, sister-in-law Janet Schneider of San Antonio, niece Karen Sykora (Craig) and children of Omaha, Nebraska, and numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.
A memorial service was held in Mike’s honor in Houston, Tx, on January 4, 2021.
Mike will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
