Michael Carter, a beloved husband, brother, papa, friend, and dedicated civil servant, passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2024, at the age of 64.
Born on July 14,1959, Michael devoted his life to serving his community and country with honor and integrity. After a remarkable 30-year career in civil service, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and commitment. His work touched many lives, and he was known for his unwavering sense of duty and ethical standards.


Michael’s life was defined by his unwavering work ethic, love for his family, and his passion for helping others. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette Carter, and father, Charles Carter. He is survived by his loving wife, Patti Carter, Stepson and Daughter-in-law, Shawn and Melissa Egerton, granddaughter, Trinity Egerton, brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Susan Carter, and niece, Hayley. His family and friends remember him as a kind, generous, bad-ass man who always had a smile for everyone he encountered. His guidance and humor were the cornerstone of his family, and his nurturing spirit extended to all. His love for his family was like none other, it was a way to ensure you knew you were loved.
Outside of his professional life, Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, and rooting for the University of Texas. He was also an avid racecar fan, always yelling at the television.
Michael’s legacy is one of love, service, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, kindness, and love.
