The first Meet & Greet for 2020 Medina County Relay for Life is being hosted on Wednesday, August 28th at 6:00 pm at Sammy’s Restaurant in Castroville. Invited is anyone interested in helping with the success and growth of Relay 2020 in Medina County.
Let’s get it back to the huge grand event it was. “Our hope and plan is to start earlier, spread the word more and pray for a huge turnout like years before. Our Relay is 8 months away set for Saturday, April 25 from 6pm – Midnight, same as last year on MV High School Track,” said Pat Hargrove, 2020 Medina County Relay for Life Chair.
“We are inviting folks to reach down into their souls and step forward to help fill multiple Chair Positions and Leadership roles. We are looking for some strong and committed supporters to step forward and help fill Leadership positions that will work on things like:
Engaging the support of our community for the event (Sponsorship).
Informing and registering our Survivors and Caregivers to our Survivor Meal (Survivor Meal).
Recruiting new Teams for our grand event (Registration).
Selling and preparing the Luminarias. And more…
“Last year’s come back was a great success considering that 2018 was canceled all together, I was quite happy. However I do look forward to getting Medina County back up in attendance and support like previous years where the entire football field at the high school was filled. I know we can do it, we just need to get the word out and start early and we’re definitely on track for both of those things already,” said Hargrove.
If you would like to fill a leadership role or need further information contact Chairman Pat Hargrove at 210-557-8422 or ACS Rep. Angela Lee at 210-595-0244. Or visit cancer.org or at relayforlife.org/medinatx where you can sign up a team or as a survivor.
American Cancer Society is celebrating their 35th year of Relay For Life evens. Medina County hosted thier first Relay For Life in 1999, in Devine Warhorse Stadium.
